Thanks for the schematic. That will help troubleshoot.
Took apart the sender. Open between terminals, get a variable readings between one terminal and different places on the resistor coil, open on the other terminal; so there is a break between one terminal and the resistance coil, although I cannot see it (magnified 4X).

Tried searching the archives. After about a dozen '404 ERROR THE PAGE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR DOES NOT EXIST' messages, I gave up.
