I had the same problem on my WC, I ended up cutting different blocks. I don't know what the wood was, it was just a large cribbing block, but it dulled 2 blades cutting out the blocks. I had to put them in the drill press to drill the holes. Looked and smelled like Oak but was WAAYYY harder.
