I emailed him, his reply
I simply put it into 5th gear, marked the input shaft and the output shaft, spun the input shaft one revolution and the output shaft spun faster. The two versions of this transmission, one being with a 1:1 5th gear, where 5th gear is shifted to the far right and down. On this, the O.D. version, 5th gear and fourth gear are swapped, 5th gear is to the far right and up.
