Ok, I am going off some very old memory here.
I can not help you on your problem, but, on the right side hub there is a grease fitting that never gets any grease. It is hard to see, and no body knows it is there. Could be why she is having this problem. I will dig out my old M880 manuals tomorrow.

PS, you are lucky you only having to fix the truck for your daughter, if you were having to pay for the fuel, you would try to kill yourself with a lug wrench!
