I got NOS Differential Gaskets they measured out at .035 like I read here and the pebble finish .025 but the one out of my front axle is .021 after being bolted in. What kind of problems can happen being .010 out of line and really how would you check that to be true. Would a inside mic read it on the outside axle tip off the sides? Also are these axles/housings really still strait after 60 years of hard use, still less than .010 from factory specs? Just wondering as gaskets are all different thicknesses.
