You do want to step on the clutch, then the only thing holding it will be the rust, not the pressure plate.

Just put it in 4WD, then you have four brakes working directly against the flywheel, and you don't have to transfer all the force through the rear tires alone.

Even more effective would be getting in high gear, so your brakes have more mechanical advantage over the clutch disc. The tradeoff is being able to do this at relatively low speed in case it doesn't work and you can't stop.

If you do it on axle stands, then the brakes don't have to also stop the momentum of the vehicle.
