Its been done several times. The wheel bases are about the same length if yours is a long bed. The problem is if it doesn't have the original frame its worth a whole lot less money. Here is a photo of the truck Dan M. did for me using modern components on an original frame. Takes some time to fabricate but will be worth your time when you decide to sell it.
