Think I had about $400 into my frame and a few other parts, but that was blasted and primed.
I'm with Paul, even if I had a space to make that kind of mess (which I don't) it's just not worth my time. I can spend the day at work and pay for the days it would have taken me to do the same thing, to say nothing of the mess. Not to mention the equipment they have makes short work of it.
I'm with you on liking to do it myself, but I'm slowly learning there are things I need/want to do and then things that I can't or won't do enough to justify the time and expense. Drywall work is the other one for me.
