Front pumps were the most common item run from the front. But that large hump angle was probably NOT used on Braden winches because I don't think there is room for both the winch and another accessory.

But once upon a time, here somewhere, was a bumper mounted capstan run off the front. Simple, just a short shaft direct to a spool. It was called a "fence stretcher". It made sense, drive up to the fence line, park the truck, and git ta stretchin. But that was the only time I ever heard of it, dunno if it was a "farm implement option" or made by a farmer?

But there may have been other farm power options that used engine speed rahter then the 6:1 reduction of the usual PTO. Maybe the same rear pully/pto w/ the spline, in a bumper mounted bearing?
