230V non reversible AC motor question

Well I got my soldering issued taken care of on my swimming pool SW chlorinator control panel. Now on to the next issue (with pools they come one after another after another). The pump motor is a 230V non reversible AO Smith. It has an external ground or bonding wire & two(multi strand w blue insulation) input wires enclosed inside a flexible metal conduit. The wires had a worn thru section & I shortened & corrected this. Problem is, I'm not certain I got each wire back onto its proper terminal. Does it matter on this motor? Its working fine BTW.
