Well after about 10 months of sitting while I worked on everything, I was finally able to fire up the FFPW. She is now converted to 12v with a Pertronix ignition and 40k coil. It started immediately! I was amazed at how quickly it started and how smooth it ran.

But alas, as with everything, there were problems. The carb was leaking around the top gasket. I tried tightening the bolts but no luck. So, I pulled the top off to fix the leak, float set too high. Put it back together and she won't stay running now. Fixed the leak though LOL. So, I'll pull the carb tomorrow and see what I messed up. When I rebuilt it, I thought I had it set perfectly. It sure ran nice before I fixed the leaky gasket.

Also, I've never had a fuel pressure gauge before. I put one on before the glass bowl to the carb. Why would the pressure rise after the engine is off? The engine quits, and I exit the cab walk around the truck to the carb and see the gauge rise from 3psi to 5psi and then slowly fall to 0. Any ideas? Seems strange to me. Oh, this is with a brand new (installed today) mechanical fuel pump.

Thanks,
Clark
