Thanks Bruce, from your answer I think you understood my question. The lip which runs front to back which bolts to the apron is not continuous for the length of the fender (front to back). It has been cut in area where the hood is located. I wasn't sure if it was continuous or not in an unmolested fender.
I wasn't able to find any pictures which give me the proper angle to see what I wanted to see.
