My Carryall is running a Cummins B3.9, NV-4500 (5 speed OD) married to a NP-205, driving 4.89's and 36 inch STA Tires. I can run any legal road speed in the US all day, every day. However, for best economy, and mostly safety I tend to keep her in the 55 range. My other 3 old iron trucks are set up all the same way and perform the same.
High Speed....... well in my opinion, not in our old iron dodges. I dont truly feel safe in any of my old iron over 55. They are designed for serious off road. Get in a serious accident and the spacious 3 man cab will fold up like a aluminum pepsie can. Head on, the steering column will drive thru you like a spear. I recommend, keep then 55 or under and enjoy them for what the were designed for.
