I have not had my 68 W-200 very long and don't know much at all about 4-wheel drive.I thought the oil from the front diff was all the oil it needed. So today I noticed under all the dirt thats on the front axle that there was an oil plug on the steering knuckle. I pull the plugs to check the oil level and there filled with grease.I looked in my manual and its says fill up eith 140 gear oil, but it also mentions cleaning out and repacking. All this to ask whats up? Is this somebodys idea of fixing a bad oil seal? Will this have caused damage? does this need to be cleaned out right away and filled back up with oil or can I wait awhile? I 've already driven quite alot like this so I'm hoping it's not a realy bad thing. thanks for any help kenneth
