When do the 2001 Rams offically become leftovers???

Does anyone know the date that the 2001 Rams are considered leftovers?? Their selling price usually come way down below invoice. I assume that the dealer gets more cash back from the factory to get rid of the leftover. Am I correct?? Or do they take a big loss just to get rid of the vehicle??
