Ever run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere? Fuel economy does have some advantages other than economic. And if by chance a vehicle is a daily driver 9 mpg becomes kind of a hassle if you are filling up every couple of days. 14-22 mpg is less of a hassle, I find.
