I have been dragging vehicles around for about 20 years, on both a truck and a dual axle trailer. I really don't believe in tow bars, (with the exception of a Suziki Samauri behind a 45' Winebago) but most especially with something that weighs as much as our flat-fendered friends. A tow dolly would be better than all fours on the ground, but your tow vehicle better have darn good brakes, and it is nearly impossible to back up. Most of the commercially available dual axle trailers have 3500# axles and probably weigh in the neighborhood of 1000# themselves, so should accomodate your 6000# PW. At least one axle should have brakes. I prefer not to use straps for tie downs as they can rub and cut thru, the exception being the straps that go over the tires. PWs are about as easy as it gets to secure to your trailer. I use chains, tossing one over each drive line, then pulling them forward or backward against the respective differential housings, and then "Y"ing them out to the sides of the trailer, where the hooks attach. With a little bit of effort, you can even get by with only one chain binder. It is important that your weight distribution is correct and your trailer will let you know directly if it is not. It's also important to stop after a few miles and check your chain tension. My apologies for my loquaciousness, but with a little care, I haven't lost a vehicle or been injured yet, and I'd really like to see everyone transport safely. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or phone me (505) 533-6966. -Dale
