on my Brush/Firetruck and the pump mounted behind the cab under the frame via a rear PTO shaft (both the front winch & water pump are connected to the same bidirectional PTO). I've never heard of a PTO shaft connected to a front crank pulley, but hey... what do I know... I hardly even know what a PTO is! Typically the pumps are bidirectional and need the PTO forward & reverse functionality to pump water out away from the truck & pump water up from a pond or reservoir to refill the small tank for mobile firefighting. The water pipe for the front hose ran next to the engine from the pump & up adjacent to the winch on the passenger side for a hose/nozzle connection for the fireman riding on the forward platform hosing down low burning brush fires as they were driving to a "hot-spot". I assume the PTO shaft for a front mounted pump would run the same place shaft for the front mounted PTO winch, if that's what you wanted to do. Funny you bring this up... I borrowed my neighbors pressure washer to hose down the garage & hose preparing for painting and was amused to think that my 53 PW had more "spraying" power than the pressure washer. I now wish I hadn't been so hasty in removing the rusted 300 gallon tank cause I probably could have used the old gal to get some water from a nearby crick and clean up the garage & house, saving a few pennies on my water bill. My wife tells me that if I ever think about starting any business... what ever it is... It should be called "Stupid-Head Ed's" to match the owner with the business! Good Luck with the Project!
