I was scoping out a hydraulic set up off of a D800 dump today to try & come up with a PTO/hydraulic set-up for my PW. The D800 had a tranny driven hydraulic pump, reservoir, controller, valves, & 4 rams (varying sizes). I believe the pump could be pulled from the tranny, modified to attach to a PTO shaft at the rear of the PW, & work fine (?). Might have to add a gearbox to get the right RPM for the pump. The control linkage could easily be mounted sub frame & controlled from inside the cab. It could operate multiple rams/motors for attachments. A lift(gate/forklift), an auger, and a log splitter are what I had in mind, all quick connect at the rear of the PW as needed. Hydraulic devices are far more quiet than gas engine... you can actually talk with your helper while working near the equipment instead of trying to talk over a Briggs & Stratten or Kohler engine at 3500rpm. Any experience in this area appreciated appreciated!
