I have a newly made Carter water pump which is similar to the aluminum circa 1972 MOPAR pump. I have both a short, small diameter pulley and a deep, large diameter pulley which moves the grooves quite a ways towards the rear.

Right now I'm trying to use a single pulley alt and water pump. The crank pulley has dual grooves, and the intention is to add power steering down the road.

Using both the large water pump pulley and a large three groove AC pulley is a no go due to serious overlap of their diameters.

I see that Moroso sells universal water pump pullet shims, but it says they are for Ford or Chevy. Are either of these close enough to the MOPAR pattern? PAW also offers a universal shim kit, but again mentions Ford and Chevy and is silent on MOPAR.

I did some measurements and found that the factory 7-blade cluth fan will just touch the face of the radiator when used. Too bad. I'm not fond of flex fans because the pull forward and dig into the radiator when fording. Back to the drawing board for a fan. I'm tempted to eliminate the clutch and whittle up an adaptor and bolt the fan directly the water pump hub, leaving plenty of clearance.
