Looking at a bare stock Power Wagon Frame I figured where the frame was cut on the 1948 PW. It was cut about 6 inches behind the first rear leaf spring mount. That shackle mount was removed on both sides but the PWs cross member stayed. It is at this point the 6X6 Outside Axle Pivot Frame goes forward over the PWs pass the cross member and angles down. The splice weld is about 5-6 inches behind the cross member frame end to end. The 6X6 frame is welded to the PWs frame at this point only with no more splices in the frame. So the axle on the 6x6 now sits about 1 ft further back than the PWs did and another axle added behind making the 10 ft bed and a longer wheel base.
