I wouldn't doubt anything the F&G after seeing over twenty dead elk that had broken thru the ice of the north fork reservoir. They suffered a lingering death at the jaws of predators who were able to walk on the ice and chew off the choice cuts while the elk were trapped.
I was flying over in my Cessna and could see the large ring of bloody snow around each elk.
The game department had decided to heard the elk across the ice with helicopters claiming there was better brows for them there.wish I had a camera on board that day.
