motor mount question

While the engine is out I'm replacing the worn out motor mounts. My rear mounts have the rubber flat part with the round washer like thing that sticks out the bottom, but I also have these little square plates with a bushing that sits on top of the rubber mount. I had the re-weld the bushing to both of them, but I haven't seen anything like these before and I nobody seems to be familiar with them. Has anyone seen something like these?
