These 46/47s (only the top of the line Custom Super Clippers) were some of the last cars recognized as Full Classics by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA), which is a very big deal to people into this sort of thing.
Restoring them can be eye-bleedingly expensive (lots of chrome and stainless trim, luxury fabric in the interior, mouton wool carpets) but so is almost any car, given the price of things.
I wouldn't hesitate to jump in ours and drive it all the way across the country nonstop...
