The story behind this, as far as I know, is that the RR track was installed as a fix to the frame which was broken multiple times behind the cab. There are plates (plow blades of some kind) which are welded onto the frame perpendicular to the frame rails. On top of these are the RR tracks, which are welded to the plates as well as to the frame in a couple of places. On top of this was set a huge rock, for additional traction.

It seems to have worked for some time, although the frame is also broken forward of the track (repaired), and then again further under the cab. Perhaps they didn't have enough track to do the whole frame?

That said, it was only used on Sunday's by a little old lady. Just barely broken in...
