like tom said soak them. the lube easily gets through the housing. in case it didn't make sense before the upper door with the lever that pokes through the grill is to be opened when you want fresh air from the passenger side vent. If you keep it closed and have the vent open you get fresh air into the core close the vent and you have recycled heat.
