OK on the frame splice. You really can't see it well except for the 1/2" wide flat weld on the inside frame section. The rear frame goes over the splice and past it 18" to the front frame. It is a double frame at the weld and only one of them is welded. I was going to put a 54" section of 6 1/2" wide x 3/16" thick C-Frame over the whole piece on each side and bolt it in right with no more welds for flexing of the frame. This would put 3 layers at the weld point. I inspected the welds and they are OK and holding well with no signs of stress.
