I've had little luck with the extractors, they seem to spin and just chew up the screw I'm trying to extract. I've had a lot of luck with cycling heat with Marvel Mystery Oil, then carefully centering the hole, and a left hand drill bit. The bit drills out a hole, then eventually it tends to bite into the screw, overcoming the friction with the threads in the casting or whatever the screw's in, and it backs out the screw.
