I wondered that, too. Same thing happened to me in December. I have to move mine once a month or so to keep the neighbors happy. So it was idling a little warm, I popped the hood, heard the boiling and shut it off. It was -13° so it didn't take long for it to cool down. I added some coolant and haven't had any trouble since.
