Up to type has straight splined armature shaft and clutch. Shifter fork has shoes that engage the clutch.
After type has spiral splined shaft. Shifter fork has no shoes, just two nubs that engage clutch. Bendix clutch is held on shaft by a retaining stop collar. Note the body or frame is a bit shorter.
