Debris is the number one killer for doors. The bottom edge and corners are always affected. I am surprised that your support was paper thin. That is a lot of metal. Was it from a road salt area? The only area of rust on my PW was in the running board supports where the wood touched metal. I replaced them and used high density plastic instead of wood b
