Goldie is a WWII vet, flew the Hump 250 times. He makes 2,000 little wooden toys every year. They get given to hospitalized kids around San Diego. It's what's been keeping him going all these years. 94 so far.
A few years ago his wive wanted to get rid of all his equipment- so their kids would not have to deal with it after they are gone. She went first with a stroke though. He hooked up with his high school sweet heart a week later.
Still at it now- toys AND girlfriends. ;^)
Rick, tell her your shop time IS your unwinding time. Get her to take up knitting or sewing. Or sand blasting parts.
