If you want a modded truck, it would be way easier and cheaper to build your own crewcab out of steel and with appropriate gearing to go as fast as you want with a Cummins.
Fitting the wood by hand in a cab like that takes a LOT of work.
That truck is awesome. I'm like you. My first instinct is I'd rather drive a Cummins, but that truck would become immediately less cool if you started taking away its rare original equipment and replacing it with modern stuff (even if modern stuff works better).
