You're joking, right?

EPA approved E15 in 2012, but when they did that, they approved it in vehicles going back to model year 2007 and newer.

OEM's obviously didn't approve E15 in vehicles previous to 2012, because it wasn't a legal fuel at that time. OEMs generally don't go back and amend statements on vehicles that have already left the showroom floor. They concentrate on current and future model year sales.

In my OPINION, I would not be afraid to use E15. That OPINION is based on many things, including discussions I have had with the researchers at national laboratories who do engine compatibility and durability test on engines an vehicles.

Research the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act if you want to learn more about the law. OEMs can't void your warranty if they find E15 in your tank. If a problem is caused directly because you put poor quality fuel in the tank, then they can deny that particular claim, because the failure was not a result of their materials or workmanship. The vehicle warranty remains intact until the terms of the warranty expire. The Magnuson Moss Act precludes OEM from requiring that you buy your fuel or oil changes from specific vendors as terms of the warranty
