I'm not at home, so I can't take a photo. But, what reminded me is this Ebay ad for a Dodge hood: Ebay 161555374492
The photo is of poor quality, but it looks like the latch on the right side has had a tube welded in place of the handle. That's similar to the two hoods I have at home.
Maybe, it's just a coincidence, but I was wondering if this is a common occurrence. I can't think of why someone would have to cut of the handle other than to squeeze in a new latch without taking out the rivets. But then, why do people have to replace the latch? It doesn't seem like a high wear item.
