I've come across three FFPW hoods where the handle on the right front latch has been replaced with a piece of metal or tubing.
Since I haven't seen very many Power Wagons, this is a pretty high percentage of the hoods.
I'm not sure whether the whole latch has been replaced, which would explain why the handle was cut (to get the new one in without removing the rivets) or just the handle was cut off and the original hook part of the latch is still in place. But, in either case, why have people done this?
Does the right front latch suffer more wear than others or is it in more of a position to be damaged?
