I've had stuff stored in barns where the water just drips off it when you have quick temperature changes in the atmosphere. Barns were not sealed in any way, just quick temperature inversion.
Happens bad in the spring when snow is melting too as there is so much moisture in the air.
When I was at Ron in Indiana's rally this year he demostrated his crushed glass blaster. VERY impressive to say the least. He said they sell an additive that was an anti rust deal and he was very happy with it. Maybe he could chime in here.
