You can justify spending the extra time, money and effort on titling a valuable vehicle. Not so much for a $3,000 FFPW.
I wouldn't start work on a vehicle until I had the paperwork squared away. Witness the guy who tried to title a Mustang that had been reported stolen 25 years ago.
