I got a call last night letting me know that John Horniak passed away over the weekend. John was a close friend.
I met John after a local event that I drove to in the Power Wagon. I guess John liked the truck so much, he decided to find one. Next thing I know, I'm getting calls from John because he bought a Power Wagon. That was the beginning of a lot fun times hanging out, working on trucks, going on road trips searching for Power Wagons and WCs, or heading out to a rally.
It didn't take John long before he had the Power Wagon finished. After that it was a WC truck, then a WC panel, then a WC on a late model chassis. John was a good mechanic, and a good fabricator. John was a fun guy to be around. He was entertaining, and always a good story or 10 to tell.
He loved his family, and thought the world of his kids. He will be missed.
