If you drop an LED light it doesn't pop and expose a red hot filament like an incandescent light does.
The advantage of a cool cool LED light when working under the dash is significant compared to a hot incandescent bulb.
Sure, you can use a flashlight, but if you want to flood and area with light, you need something more. I find LED lights superior to fluorescent.
Costco recently had Snapon LED work lights (the big rectangular lights) on sale for abut $25.00.
Try LED, you will like it.
