Did you go over-size on the pistons? If not, was there a reason you replaced them rather than just replacing the rings? Was the crank scored at all? Did you grind it or clean it up with emery cloth or anything? Didn't know anybody still shimmed crank bearings, so kind of nice to hear about that again. Could you not get over-size ones in a size that didn't requiring grinding the crank? I thought they made sets that were .003 over standard just for freshening up a stock motor that's never been really overhauled. I'm just curious because I have a couple 230s that run okay but are pretty tired and could definitely use some freshening up.
