You guys starting me thinking about my dad's cousins who are buried in the military cemetery in Rhone, France.
One was a bomber crewman with the 483rd bomb group flying B-17's. The other was with the 7th Army invading Italy. One was 19, the other 22 and married with a kid.
I did a google search, and much to my surprise, I found a recent photo of John Harris's grave site posted by the local Franco-American club to commemorate the anniversary of his death.
I was in France a couple years ago and the French especially on the Normandy peninsula, still remember and appreciate the American sacrifice.
