My dad was in the Army in Europe during WWII and a career military man. I grew up on military bases. I volunteered during the Vietnam war and was an officer in the Army airborne.

My family lived at Scoffield Barracks after the war when the attack on Pearl Harbor was still fresh in people's minds and there was still battle damage to be seen.

I remember going to the Pearl Harbor remembrance ceremonies on Dec. 7th with my dad when nearly every man attending there was a WWII veteran.

My grandpa at Pearl Harbor? Ha! You sound like a whippersnapper to me. Both my grandfathers served in WWI. My maternal grandfather (an Englishman) was injured by mustard gas and suffered for the rest of his life. My mother lived through the bombing of England. My family can trace military service back to the revolutionary war. My dad's two cousins are buried in a military cemetery in France. But, no, my grandfathers were not at Pearl Harbor, they were at places like Verdun and Ypres.

So what's your point? All major auto companies are global companies now. All my Toyota's were made in the U.S.
