The House of Kolors stuff works like sandable primer. You spray it on the bare metal to protect it. Then do your body work including filler right over the House of Kolors. When you finally get the basic stuff done, you spray again and then block out using a guide coat. You can vary the thickness of the material by adjusting the reducer. If you need to fill scratches and low spots, just use less reducer. If you want a smooth coat just prior to painting, add more reducer.

Unfortunately, like many good products, this stuff is not cheap. Figure close to $200 a gallon by the time you pay for everything including reducer, hardener, tax and shipping. You may do a little better than that if you look around online.

If you have a lot of bodywork and need to re-spray several times, you may not get away with just one gallon. Fun, huh?
