This is for my Carryall project. I am organizing all of the sub-systems of the ISB170 swap and am trying to plan space ahead of time. I'd like to have a large area of cold air intake to pull for the turbo charger (I am also going to have a Charge Air cooler) but any amount of non engine heated air will be nice to pull from. A Clean and easy source for outside cooler air is from the passenger inner fender. I could easily build a little buffer box with a divider rib / drip rib in it to help skim out moisture but am concerned with heavy tire spray. Those of you have have driven these trucks in heavy rain, have you ever noticed water inside the engine compartment from being spun forward from tire mist? Am I at risk of soaking a square shaped air filter for drawing air from right by the tire? Never mind my "dummy" mock-up struts in the photo. For those new to my build there is a 4 link suspension under there.

Thoughts on water spray soaked air filter problems? This would just be a super clean and super convenient place to put the air intake assembly that would be out of the way of the radiator and charge air pipes. I really don't want to just have a big round air filter stuck on the end of the turbo inlet drawing in air post radiator.
