diesel costs more because the purchasers of diesel are mostly commercial and constitute a smaller voting base. same reason the true cost of a subway ride in nyc is over 15 dollars, but it subsidized. trucks crossing the bridges from nj to ny pay over 150 dollars roundtrip. the politicos figure most trucks are from out of state and do not have a vote. it sucks...
