They made some switch in the 90s. Diesel used to coast less than gas. I figure they abandoned the less cost to refine in exchange for pricing according to energy density. Diesel has more umph, so up the price goes. Maybe that gives them too much credit for being clever. This gasoline price dip while nice will probably be very short lived.
