It depends on the state you live in as to how they deal with salvaged and reconstructed vehicles. It's relatively easy in Idaho, just a matter of following the directions. I'm sure Washington state will be a little more complicated, but can still be done. Some states impose a specific limit of years that allow for a "stolen" vehicle to be reclaimed by the original owner, but in this case it likely will never be an issue.
I would go to your nearest dmv and ask them what you need to do. AVOID TELLING THEM ANY MORE THAN YOU NEED TO. I say this because some people in those offices are there because they love wading through bureaucracy and they will be thrilled to hold your hand and drag you along with them.
A fifth of whiskey used to help, but now they probably would take it from you and then lock you up. :)
