Sounds safe enough. But, I wouldn't want to try to install one without a manual.

According to the article, South Wind sales dwindled as car heaters got better.

Most gasoline heaters needed to be vented. The South Wind didn't because the vacuum pulled the exhaust gases back into the engine.
