So, I'm trying to mount the split bumpers onto the 6x6. The bumpers and brackets came from a '46 WDX, and the frame is WC63. The frame, bumpers, and brackets have seen a fair bit of abuse, and all needed straightening. That's all done, and now I can't get the lower bumper brackets to fit. They seem to be too tall, and the bolt holes don't line up. I've tried reworking the lower brackets, and if the holes line up, the bracket is too tall. If the bracket fits between the bumper and the bottom of the frame, the holes in the bracket are too far apart, by about 1/2" or more. Too much to get the bolts through
Now what gets me the most is I'm double checking sizes and measurements with the bumpers on my WM300, and everything is either really close (within 1/16") or dead-on, so why aren't these parts lining up? My ASSumption is that WC bumpers and WDX/WM bumpers will interchange, but is that actually true? Also, can someone give the the correct height for the lower bumper bracket. I'd rather not slot the bolt holes in the brackets, but I'm starting to think about it. Somebody STOP me!
